For over 20 years, Joanna Ochota has been designing interiors guided by a deep understanding of her clients’ personalities, intuition, and boundless imagination. Her designs are distinguished by an unconventional approach to forms and materials, as well as bold use of colour.

Concept Joana – a studio born out of a desire for independence.

Joanna Ochota graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Silesian University of Technology, dreaming of designing theatre buildings, museums, or hotels. However, the reality of working as an architect quickly challenged her plans. When the amount of administrative work began to outweigh creative tasks, and collaboration with other industry professionals limited her independence in design, Joanna Ochota decided to take her career in a slightly different direction.

Thirsting for artistic freedom and closer engagement with clients, she trusted her intuition, which guided her towards interior design – a field that, at the time, was not yet as popular. In 2005, she founded her own studio, which in 2014 adopted its current name – Concept Joana. Over two decades of professional practice, Joanna Ochota has continually evolved, not only as a designer but also as an individual. By constantly updating her style, priorities, and aspirations, she refuses to be confined by familiar frameworks and remains eager for new challenges.

Architect with 20 years of experience

Joanna Ochota has received numerous accolades, including a nomination for the Property Design Awards 2025, first prize in the Silesian edition of the Dobrze Mieszkaj [Live Well] competition, second prize at Laufen 2021 for the design of an exhibition booth, and the top award at Tubądzin Design Days 2018. The Concept Joana studio has also been recognised multiple times for its bathroom designs, including in the Grohe, Roca Designer, and Cerrad Creative Design competitions, as well as for product designs, such as a wooden floorboard in the Barlinek S.A. competition and patterned wallpaper in the Muraspec competition.
