Monika Rybicka of mo.studio has designed a 65-square-metre flat in Łańcut for a young married couple and their dog, Ori. The palette draws on the wife’s favourite time of year, when late summer turns to autumn, with light blue, terracotta tones and dark wood alongside contemporary forms and retro details.
A blue kitchen visible from the entrance
The brief called for a home that would be comfortable for everyday living and reflect the wife’s tastes. Rybicka used colour across large surfaces as well as smaller furnishings and accessories, with gold-toned details alongside the light-blue cabinetry and autumnal hues. Retro references begin in the hallway, where dark wood, woven natural materials and a geometric floor pattern feature.
Visible from the entrance, the kitchen and its island occupy a central position in the living area. Light-blue cabinet fronts are set against contrasting flooring and darker wood in a nod to vintage interiors, while decorative lighting is another prominent feature of the space.

Colourful globe lights and autumnal bedroom walls
Lighting also stands out in the bathroom, where colourful globe lights contrast with the pale palette. Colour covers smaller areas here than in the kitchen but remains central to the scheme. The interior architect intended the room as a place to relax and unwind.

The bedroom walls are finished in a deeper, more saturated shade, returning to the autumnal palette and personal preferences that informed the project. As Rybicka stresses, the aim from the outset was to make a home suited to its residents’ lifestyle, with room for colour, plants and favourite objects.
Choosing colours for a home means considering the whole scheme, from large surfaces to accessories. Find architects, interior designers and interior photographers in the PLNDesign directory.
