Iga KozÅ‚owska of KOIGA Studio has designed Amber Shore, a flat in Gdynia, Poland, that captures the golden hour through amber light, natural textures and vintage furniture. It is the fourth project in a series inspired by the city’s coastline.
Coastal references in the living room
The living room is the centre of the flat, interpreting its coastal setting through light and rhythm. Its focal point is a TV cabinet that Kozłowska transformed by cladding the doors in sheet brass and adding timber legs, giving an ordinary piece of furniture a more refined finish.

Behind it, she arranged MDF panels finished with natural wood veneer. Their vertical composition recalls streaks of morning light or flowing water, making a subtle reference to the sea without obvious nautical symbols.
A green wallcovering from Arte’s Samal collection covers one wall. Made from real capiz shells, it changes with the light, its pearlescent reflections shimmering like sunlight on the surface of the sea and giving the room a rhythm of its own.
Amber glass and stone
A lamp by Rosario Bavetta of BVT Studio, an Italian artist based in Poland, takes centre stage in the living room. Its amber stained glass and geometric form make it as much a sculpture as a source of light, setting the character of the interior. A Danish stone coffee table from the 1970s completes the composition. Substantial yet understated in its simplicity, its form recalls boulders worn smooth by waves.

Vintage pieces in the bedroom
Vintage furniture takes the lead in the bedroom. Bedside tables from the 1980s stand on either side of the bed, upholstered in richly coloured velour. They are accompanied by the original lamps from the same set, whose authenticity and character are part of their appeal.
A 1950s Hollywood Regency mirror hangs on the wall, its decorative geometric design balanced by a lightness of form. Wallpaper by French brand Casamance provides a subdued backdrop with a gentle sheen. Kozłowska also designed a console with a minimal form and a single turned leg.

Travel references in the study
The study has the feel of a traveller’s or collector’s room. At its centre stands a substantial 19th-century antique desk, marked by its history and natural patina. Prints depicting historic maps and globes hang above it, as though the owner were planning another journey.
A contemporary shelving unit by Papierówka contrasts with the antique desk, its minimalist form bringing past and present together. Wallpaper with a geometric woven pattern covers the walls, recalling a map shaped by the wind. The result is a warm, personal space suited to creative work and contemplation.

At Amber Shore, a considered mix of light, texture and time defines the sense of luxury. Kozłowska has designed a home that feels enveloping rather than showy, as though the golden hour lasted all day.
