The studio, founded by Jacek Kolasiński, includes in its portfolio both private and public interiors, in new buildings and historic locations, furnished with design icons and furniture of its own design. Interiors that starred in the film – unusual projects by the Loft Kolasiński studio
The spaces designed by the Loft Kolasiński studio have been used more than once as locations for photo shoots of fashion, cosmetics or furniture brands, as well as for… feature film! The studio has a track record of collaborating on set design. Among the most interesting projects carried out by the team led by Jacek Kolasiński, it is also worth noting the flats in the Renaissance palace and the Konstancin villa in Bauhaus style, designed for the 100th anniversary of the school’s foundation.
Sophisticated design – projects recognised worldwide
Loft Kolasiński is also about industrial design, so it is impossible not to mention furniture designs. In addition to those created for specific arrangements, the studio also offers the Public Project collection, available for purchase on a permanent basis to order. The studio also designs accessories and furnishings, such as the Brazilian Punk lamp collection, which is particularly valued by Jacek Kolasiński and inspired by Jorge Zalszupin, a Brazilian master of modernism.
The studio’s commitment to the highest quality of its projects has been recognised many times. The team has won awards from Must Have Łódź Design Festival for furniture designs, Best Project – Archilovers, Design Top 50/ Global Wondrous Wares – the ‘Monocle’ magazine. The studio has also been included in the AD-100 2025 list.
What values and outlook guide your design work? What are your priorities in creating interior designs?
Our studio focuses primarily on the highest quality design. Guided by an individual and comprehensive approach to each project, we very often design and then manufacture high-quality wooden furniture ourselves. We also import selected classics of world design and vintage furnishings for our customers, which we subject to skilful restoration.
Do you have a favourite interior design style? If so, what kind?
Kolasiński Loft does not limit itself to one trend or label, such as modernism, minimalism or vintage. The studio’s style is a synthesis of several directions, supported by the author’s interpretation and skilful combination of elements. Thus, it can be said that the style of Loft Kolasiński is a style beyond definitions. It combines classic and modern, minimalism and craftsmanlike detail, functionality and art. It is the mix of experience, inspiration and original solutions that makes each interior have an individual character, while being immediately recognisable as a project of our studio.
What materials and technologies do you most like to use in your projects?
Our studio is constantly striving to expand the number of collaborators representing rare craft techniques. As a result, we have repeatedly used niche finishing materials such as eco-friendly clay plasters and paints, wood mats or hemp concrete in our projects. We also regularly cooperate with friendly carpentry shops, where the wooden furniture and accessories we design are made. Our extensive contacts also allow us to source unusual furnishings from Japan, Brazil, Mexico or Denmark, whose design we particularly value. Classic Danish furniture and lamps very often feature in our projects. Thanks to our good knowledge of the vintage market, we are also able to select real gems for our customers, which are not only interior decoration but also an investment.
What are your experiences of working with clients? What do you think is the key to a successful collaboration?
We value cooperation with conscious investors who, like us, are committed to high quality and love good design. Each time, we try to support them with our experience, knowledge and contacts in order to create interiors with character together.
Can you tell us about the most interesting project you have worked on?
Our studio has carried out many non-standard interior designs – in historic locations, with unusual functions, with interesting furnishings. As we also specialise in industrial design, I would like to feature one of our latest collaborations. August 2025 saw the launch of a collection of New Zealand wool rugs designed by us for Danish brand Massimo Copenhagen. This was the first time in history that a manufacturer had chosen to work with a designer not from Scandinavia.
